As we tentatively come out of lockdown, there has never been a better time to make a positive change in your lifestyle and give something back to society by signing up to a charity bike challenge.
If you have used the enforced downtime over the last year or so to spend more time in the saddle, it is important not to let your hard work go to waste by allowing our new-found freedoms to eat into your biking time. Keep motivation levels high by signing up to a charity cycle ride. There’s an event to suit every fitness level, and you will find cycling all the more fulfilling when you know it’s going to a good cause.
Cycle London Virtual – Sunday 24th October 2021
If you feel a bit apprehensive about mass participation events, you could opt for a virtual challenge instead. cycleforcharity.com is hosting a series of cycle challenges based around the marathon distance of 26.2 miles. In the case of Cycle London, you need to complete 104.8 miles on your bike (the equivalent of four marathons). If you feel this is too far, or you want to be a bit more sociable on your challenge, can enlist the help of friends who share your passion for cycling. Sharing with one other person means you complete 52.4 miles each and splitting the distance between a team of four entails covering 26.2 miles each.
The Cambridge 100, Cambridge 60 and Cambridge 35 – May 2022
Taking you through Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire & towards the Norfolk coast, this circular ride allows you to choose between three ride lengths, 100 miles, 60 miles or 35 miles. This is a perfect ride for all ages and fitness levels, and you get to take in the gorgeous countryside as you raise money, either for one of the event's partner charities, or for another charity of your choice.

Nightrider London - June 4th 2022
If you need a little extra time to train for your challenge or you would like to take on a charity cycle with a bit of a twist, why not sign up to the ultimate moonlit cycle tour of London. The ride begins at Lee Valley VeloPark in North London and takes you on a 100km circular route, incorporating the iconic Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Let the buzz of the capital's nightlife spur you on your way, as you experience so many familiar landmarks in all their nocturnal glory. Make sure you have your high visibility gear on so you can enjoy the ride safely!

Take your challenge somewhere new by signing up for an international cycling adventure and seeking sponsorship for your endeavour. Global Adventure Challenges and Dream Challenges offer two-wheeled adventures both in the UK and as far away as Burma, Costa Rica and China.
Raising money by taking part in bike challenges can be hugely rewarding, but remember that your safety should always come first: pace yourself, stay hydrated and always wear appropriate high visibility gear; especially if you’re riding at night!
