What should I look for in a cycling jacket?

Good quality seams are a must if you intend to stay dry if the weather is bad, add to this excellent seals on pockets and flaps to keep the weather out. Also, look for good reflective properties day and night.

Do cycling jackets keep you warm?

All cycling jackets should provide an element of protection from the wind which helps. Depending on the time of year and the weather there are padded or insulated options to add an extra layer of warmth. Couple this with good layering underneath and there are few conditions where you can't cycle if you choose to.

How tight should a cycling jacket be?

A close fit is best, but you need to ensure you have room underneath should you need to wear multiple layers. Ensure that the arms are long enough and if possible that the jacket has a rear spray guard.
